1. What is Centreon IT Edition?
Centreon IT Edition is a commercial edition of the Centreon IT Monitoring platform. It extends Centreon Open Source with both the Auto-Discovery feature and a full access to the online Centreon Plugin Packs library. A valid software license is required to use Centreon IT Edition.
2. What is Centreon IT-100?
Centreon IT-100 is a Centreon IT Edition platform which software license limits the monitoring capacity to a maximum of 100 devices. Available for 20.04 software and above.
3. Is Centreon IT-100 free of charge?
Yes. The software license for Centreon IT-100 is free of charge. Your Centreon platform must be connected to the Internet to benefit from this free license. Visit the Free Download page to request your free Centreon IT-100 software license.
4. Which functionalities are available with the Centreon IT-100 free software license?
This is a free license to use Centreon IT Edition with a monitoring capacity limited to 100 devices. It extends the Centreon Open Source platform with both the Auto-Discovery feature and a full access to the online Centreon Plugin Packs library.

5. Which Plugin Packs are available with the Centreon IT-100 free software license?
This software license grants access to the full Centreon Plugin Packs online library, with no limitation. Your Centreon platform must connect to the Internet in order to register the license and access the online Plugin Packs library.
6. How many devices can I monitor with the Centreon IT-100 free license?
You may monitor up to 100 devices (these are called hosts in the Centreon documentation).
7. What is a Host (or device)?
A host is any physical or virtual device monitored by Centreon: a switch, a router, a server, a virtual machine, a cloud instance, a database instance, etc. Centreon IT-100 can monitor up to 100 such hosts.
8. Does this free software license include a duration limit?
No. You may use this software license as long as you need it, with no limit in time.
9. What happens if I exceed the 100 devices limit?
If you exceed the maximum number of permitted hosts, the platform keeps monitoring your infrastructure.
However, you can’t update your Plugin Packs or download new Plugin Packs, and Auto-Discovery feature is not applicable anymore.
10. How can I get support to operate my Centreon IT-100 platform?

11. Can I have access to the Centreon Support team to help me operate my Centreon IT-100 platform?
Yes. All software subscriptions sold by Centreon include a support & maintenance contract subscription that grants access to the Centreon Support team. To access the Centreon Support team, you must subscribe to IT-125. Hence on top of the support & maintenance contract you will also benefit from an extra 25 equipment capacity. 12. What if I want to monitor more than 100 devices?
Centreon sells IT Edition software subscriptions. The subscriptions includes a support & maintenance contract subscription and its monitoring capacity is not limited to 100 devices. Price depends on the maximum number of devices you want to monitor, with a first step at 125. Contact us to subscribe.
Another option is to use Centreon Open Source if you do not need the auto-discovery and Plugin Packs functionalities anymore. This will cancel the 100 devices monitoring capacity limitation.
13. What if my Centreon platform can’t access the Internet?
If your platform is isolated in a secured network that forbids access to the Internet, you will not be able to register your free software license and you will have no access to the online Plugin Packs library. Centreon IT Edition platforms sold by Centreon sales team and Centreon Partners do not have such limitations.

14. Can I upgrade to Centreon IT-125 or above later?
Yes. Should you need to monitor more than 100 devices in the future, you will be able to purchase a software license and register it to your Centreon platform for extra monitoring capacity. Contact us to subscribe.
15. Can I buy Centreon IT Edition software licenses online?
Yes. Centreon sells IT Edition software subscriptions. The subscriptions includes a support & maintenance contract subscription and its monitoring capacity is not limited to 100 devices. 16. Can I upgrade to Centreon Business Edition later?
Yes. Should you need the extra functionalities included in Centreon Business Edition in the future, you will be able to purchase a software license for Centreon Business Edition and register it to your Centreon IT-100 platform. You will also need to install some additional software extensions required by the extra functionalities.

17. Can I buy a Centreon Business Edition software license online?
No. Centreon Business Edition is sold by Centreon sales team and Centreon Partners. It includes a support & maintenance contract subscription and is not limited to 100 devices. Price depends on the maximum number of devices you want to monitor with a first step at 250.

18. Can I downgrade to Centreon Open Source later?
Yes. Should you not need the auto-discovery and Plugin Packs functionalities anymore, you may revert your Centreon IT-100 platform to Centreon Open Source. This will cancel the 100 devices monitoring capacity limitation.
Getting started with Centreon IT-100
19. How can I get a free software license for Centreon IT-100?
Visit the Free Download page to request your free Centreon IT-100 software license. You will receive an email with your personal token. Add this token to your Centreon Platform to register your software license.
20. What are the prerequisites to use Centreon IT-100?
Your Centreon platform must run the 20.04 software version, or above.
Centreon is packaged as an all-in-one software appliance that comes complete with its Linux operating system, database management system and web application environment. Make sure you have one virtual machine or bare metal server with a minimum of 2GB of RAM to install Centreon. Your platform will also need access to the Internet.
Accessing the Internet from the Centreon platform often requires routing through a proxy server. If your organization uses a proxy server, you should configure its parameters in the Administration > Parameters > Centreon UI page under the Proxy Options tab.

Using Centreon IT-100
23. I received my personal token, what’s next?
You need a Centreon platform up and running, with software version 20.04 or above. It must have access to the Internet.
In the Centreon user interface, use the Add Token button in the Administration > Extensions > Manager page to register your license.
Accessing the Internet often requires routing through a proxy server. If your organization uses a proxy server, you should configure its parameters in the Administration > Parameters > Centreon UI page under the Proxy Options tab.

24. I can’t see the Add Token button
In the Centreon user interface, the Add Token button resides in the Administration > Extensions > Manager page. Make sure your Centreon platform is running software version 20.04 or above.
The software version number of a Centreon platform can be seen on the login screen or in the Administration > About page.
25. When adding my token, I get a “You have reached the maximum number of Centreon IT-100 licenses” error message.
There is a limitation in the number of Centreon platforms that can simultaneously register the same free Centreon IT-100 software license.

26. When adding my token, I get a “Can’t reach Centreon License Delivery Service” error message.
Apparently, your platform cannot access the Internet. Accessing the Internet often requires routing through a proxy server. If your organization uses a proxy server, you should configure its parameters in the Administration > Parameters > Centreon UI page under the Proxy Options tab.
27. When reaching the Configuration – Plugin Packs – Manager page, I get a “No Plugin Pack found” message.
Apparently, your platform cannot access the Internet. Accessing the Internet often requires routing through a proxy server. If your organization uses a proxy server, you should configure its parameters in the Administration > Parameters > Centreon UI page under the Proxy Options tab.
28. I installed a Plugin Pack and used it to monitor a host, but I have the following message in my event view: “(No output returned from plugin)”.
Apparently, the plugin required by the Plugin Pack has not been installed on the Poller. Follow the Plugin Pack monitoring procedure in order to install the required plugin and associated dependencies. This procedure is available by clicking on the “?” icon of each Plugin Pack, once installed. It can also be found in the Plugin Packs chapter of the documentation.
29. Why does it say EPP license instead of IT-100 license in the Administration – Extensions – Manager page?
EPP is the technical name of the software license that is required for Centreon IT Edition.
30. How do I know how many devices are being monitored by my Centreon platform?
The Top Counters displayed at the top of all pages give that information. Click on the down arrow at the right of the Host counter to get the total number of monitored hosts.
31. Can I transfer my free license to another platform?
Yes. Use your personal token to register another Centreon platform with the same free software license. Please note there is a maximum number of platforms that can simultaneously register the same software license.
Upgrading from Centreon Open Source to Centreon IT-100
32. I’m currently monitoring with Centreon Open Source, can I benefit from this Centreon IT-100 free software license?
Yes. Your Centreon platform must run the 20.04 software version, or above. Visit the Free Download page to request your free Centreon IT-100 software license. You will receive an email with your personal token. Read the documentation to add this token to your Centreon Platform and register your license. Registration requires your Centreon platform to access the Internet. Beware this license limits the monitoring capacity to 100 devices.
33. I had registered my Centreon platform to get 5 free Plugin Packs, can I benefit from this Centreon IT-100 free software license?
Yes. Your Centreon platform must run the 20.04 software version, or above. Visit the Free Download page to request your free Centreon IT-100 software license. You will receive an email with your personal token. Read the documentation to add this token to your Centreon Platform and register your license. Beware this license limits the monitoring capacity to 100 devices.
34. I had registered my Centreon platform to get the 26 free Plugin Packs that were made temporarily available during the Covid-19 crisis, can I benefit from this Centreon IT-100 free software license?
Yes. You need to upgrade your Centreon platform to the 20.04 software release, or above. Visit the Free Download page to request your free Centreon IT-100 software license. You will receive an email with your personal token. Read the documentation to add this token to your Centreon Platform and register your license. 35. Is updating my Centreon platform software a prerequisite to benefit from this Centreon IT-100 free software license?
If you’re running a 19.10 or older version, yes. You need to update your Centreon platform to the 20.04 software release, or above.
36. What are the prerequisites to upgrade from Centreon Open Source to Centreon IT-100?
You need your Centreon platform to run the 20.04 software release, or above. Your Centreon platform must have access to the Internet. Beware this license limits the monitoring capacity to 100 devices.
Updating from Centreon IMP to Centreon IT-100
37. What is Centreon IMP?
In April 2020, we changed the name of our commercial editions. Centreon IT Edition is the new name for a Centreon platform entitled to the EPP license, which gives access to the Enterprise Plugin Packs catalog and Auto-Discovery software extension. This was formerly called Centreon IMP.
Some variants of Centreon IMP subscriptions have been sold online over the years, most notably IMP-100 and IMP/2016.
Some IMP-100 and IMP/2016 subscribers may want to update their platform to IT-100.
38. What is a Centreon IMP-100 subscription?
Before April 2020, Centreon offered an online Centreon IMP subscription with a monitoring capacity limited to 100 devices. This is called a Centreon IMP-100 subscription.
39. What is a Centreon IMP/2016 subscription?
From 2016 to 2018, Centreon offered an online Centreon IMP subscription now called Centreon IMP/2016. The number of devices that can be monitored by Centreon IMP/2016 platforms is not limited but it can only access a subset of the online Plugin Packs library.
40. What is the difference between Centreon IMP-100 and Centreon IT-100?
Centreon IMP-100 is a paid subscription, Centreon IT-100 is free of charge. Centreon IMP-100 subscriptions grant access to the Centreon Support team via emails, Centreon IT-100 does not give access to the Centreon Support team. They both give access to Auto-Discovery, the full online Plugin Packs library. They both have a monitoring capacity limited to 100 devices.
41. What is the difference between Centreon IMP/2016 and Centreon IT-100?
Centreon IMP/2016 is a paid subscription, Centreon IT-100 is free of charge. Centreon IMP/2016 subscriptions grant access to the Centreon Support team for Plugin Packs support, Centreon IT-100 does not give access to the Centreon Support team. They both give access to Auto-Discovery. Centreon IMP/2016 has no monitoring capacity limit but can only access a subset of the online Plugin Packs library. Centreon IT-100 has a monitoring capacity limited to 100 devices but can access the full online Plugin Packs library.
42. Can I update my Centreon IMP-100 platform to Centreon IT-100?
Yes, at the end of your Centreon IMP-100 subscription you may request a free Centreon IT-100 software license and register it onto your Centreon platform. You will need to upgrade to the 20.04 software version or above.
43. What if I don’t update my Centreon IMP-100 platform: what happens at the end of my current subscription?
Centreon no longer renews Centreon IMP-100 subscriptions. When your subscription expires, the platform keeps monitoring. You can’t update your Plugin Packs or download new Plugin Packs, and Centreon’s auto-discovery feature is no longer applicable.
44. Can I update my Centreon IMP/2016 platform to Centreon IT-100?
Yes, at the end of your Centreon IMP/2016 subscription you may request a free Centreon IT-100 software license and register it onto your Centreon platform. You will need to upgrade to the 20.04 software version or above. Beware this license limits the monitoring capacity to 100 devices. If you’re monitoring more than 100 devices, you may buy Centreon IT Edition without this limitation. Ask for a quotation.
45. Do you still sell Centreon IMP online?
No, we don’t. Centreon IMP is now called Centreon IT Edition. Subscriptions to Centreon IT Edition cannot be purchased online. Ask for a quotation.
